Maybelline Limited Edition Spring 2011 Lipsticks and Lip Gloss in Pink Beam 950, Glistening Pink 952 & First Light 953

What the Website claims:

MORE LUMINOUS SHIMMER from micronized pearls

CREAMIER FEEL from nourishing honey nectar
10 always flattering, never frosty shades

(Sorry for the glare)

Left-Pink Gleam Right-Glistening Pink

This is my first go at Maybelline Lipsticks and glosses. I do like the colors and finishes I've selected; very springy and feminine. The consistency is in fact creamy and feels moisturizing even though I doubt it actually is. But these are absolutely frosty and metallic, I don't mind too much though. My only complaints are the lasting power and the 'clinging'. As you can tell from the pictures below, my lips are quite dry despite my constant application of chap stick; these 'frosty/metallic' finishes don't do justice for my poor lips. I originally was most excited about pink beam but ended up getting a few things from the collection and I've become quite attached to glistening pink. I really can't say too much about them though, I've only had them for a short time. But anyhow, on to the swatches. :)

My bare lips:

Pink Beam 950:
(this shade absolutely accentuates dry/chapped lips)

Pink Beam 950 with First Light lip gloss 953 on top:

Glistening Pink 952:

First Light 953:
Oh yeah, the lipsticks smell like vanilla with a hint of lipstick(haha). The gloss on the other hand has a really nice citrusy smell. If you're sensitive to smells i don't think these will bother you too much; I find the smell fades after a bit. Also the gloss has a standard ,but rather small, doe-foot applicator. It gives you just enough to coat the lips with a thin layer of gloss. The stopper on my gloss is good as well, no mess.
